About Whaleyville
Whaleyville isn’t so much a place as it is a state of mind. I hope this is a place where I can take the time to speak out without being assailed by various and sundry fundamentalists who carry torches and wear wooden shoes for a living. I am deeply and often passionately conservative both socially and theologically, but I do my best not to let that turn me into a bigot. We all have to live in this world even though we’re not all one homogeneous group. We may as well learn how to differ with one another yet still respect and even love one another. Idealistic, I know… but I think this is who Christ has called us to be.
I’m MacRuss, mayor of Whaleyville. I thank you for stopping by to read my rants and philosophising. I hope you find something that resonates with your way of living.
I was born in the US Midwest in the early 1960s, and have traveled extensively in the middle third of my country. I am Christian clergy, journeying to what I hope is a joyous reunion with my Lord and the saints of light.
My heritage is largely Celtic, and my temperament reflects that of my forebears: the highest highs, the lowest lows, life lived in full color. My blood frequently sings and is rarely far from boiling over. Life that is routine or passionless is not life at all for me.
I am happily married for some time now, am joyously raising children with my wife; I count family, friendship, and song to be among the greatest blessings of my life in this world.
Welcome! I hope you’ll stay for a while.
